OUCH! Unfortunately, I went to pack my riq for my trip to Israel and I discovered that the fish skin head had pulled away from the shell. Looks like no riq for this trip. I talked to the guys at Cooperman today and I am shipping it back to them for reheading. I am going to go with the weatherking head this time, the fish skin is too temperamental.

I know this post is very old, but I have to ask, was the riqq fixed?
Yes, I sent the Riqq back to Patrick at Cooperman and had him install a Remo clear head on it. No problems since then, although the sound isn't as "crisp" as with the fish skin. I'd say that unless you're a professional who plays everyday and can give it the tender loving care it deserves, don't get the fish skin.
Thanks for your reply. I agree, I have the same Coop riqq with the plastic head and it´s fine. I have some bigger frame drums with skin and I love them, they sound amazing but as soon as you try to take them out they become a pain in the ass!
